Product Owner
Role Overview
The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product and ensuring it aligns with the business’s goals and customer needs. In this role, you will manage and prioritize the product backlog, work closely with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features, and ensure that each release meets high standards of functionality and user satisfaction. As the primary point of contact between stakeholders and development teams, you’ll drive product vision and strategy through every phase of development.
Key Responsibilities
Product Vision & Strategy
- Develop a clear product vision and strategy in alignment with the company's goals and market demands.
- Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis to keep the product competitive and relevant.
- Define, articulate, and refine product goals and objectives, ensuring they meet user needs and business targets.
Backlog Management - Create and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it is well-organized, detailed, and aligns with strategic priorities.
- Continuously refine and update backlog items based on changing business needs, customer feedback, and technical constraints.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure transparency and understanding of backlog priorities and deliverables.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Serve as the main liaison between stakeholders, development teams, and other departments, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, engineers, and QA teams to deliver features that meet high standards of quality and usability.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders, translating business requirements into actionable items.
Sprint Planning & Release Management - Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups, ensuring the development team understands requirements and has clear goals.
- Define acceptance criteria for features, thoroughly testing completed work to verify it meets business and quality standards.
- Manage release planning and communicate release details to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on delivery timelines and feature sets.
Customer & Data-Driven Insights - Gather and analyze customer feedback, usage data, and other relevant metrics to refine and improve the product.
- Use data insights to identify opportunities for new features or enhancements, presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
- Implement user testing and beta programs as needed, incorporating findings into product improvements.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a product ownership, product management, or similar role within agile software development.
- Demonstrated experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs, with successful track records in delivering software products or features
Technical Skills: - Proficient in agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and comfortable working with product roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and lifecycle, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
Soft Skills - Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Skilled at negotiating priorities and trade-offs, aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared product vision.
