Compliance Officer IGaming
About the role:
The Compliance Officer ensures that the company adheres to all statutory and regulatory requirements, focusing on compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-financing of terrorism (CFT) regulations, as well as maintaining the company’s licenses in relevant jurisdictions. This role involves drafting internal compliance policies, conducting due diligence, and liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners. The Compliance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management, with specific attention to regulations and iGaming industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Onboarding Due Diligence: Conduct and gather due diligence for new clients, including KYC (Know Your Customer), KYB (Know Your Business), Sanctions, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) checks, and Adverse Media checks. Perform ongoing due diligence for existing clients.
- Drafting Policies: Draft and implement internal compliance policies and procedures, ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
- Monitoring Procedures: Periodically review and monitor existing procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
- Risk Assessment: Compile and maintain risk assessments for all clients to identify and mitigate potential risks, including AML/CFT risks.
- License Maintenance: Monitor compliance to maintain all existing licenses, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- AML/CFT Controls: Monitor AML/CFT risks, and create or enhance controls as necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on any changes in regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions where the company holds licenses, and ensure changes are incorporated into company processes.
- License Reporting: Coordinate and manage all reporting requirements related to the maintenance of existing licenses, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- New License Applications: Prepare and submit applications for new licenses in regulated jurisdictions, including gathering necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Internal Stakeholder Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to internal departments on compliance-related issues, ensuring everyone is aligned with company policies.
- Compliance Reporting: Prepare and process compliance assessments and reports for regulatory bodies in regulated jurisdictions.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in the iGaming industry, specifically in compliance.
- Legal background and/or similar compliance certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulatory frameworks.
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written).
- Strong organizational, detailed, and methodical approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills, polite and professional in interactions.
- Ability to multitask efficiently and manage competing priorities.
- Proactive and motivated, with the ability to take initiative and solve problems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Based in the Barcelona.
- Willingness to travel periodically for regulatory meetings and compliance requirements.
- Experience with licensing procedures and post-licensing compliance management.
